The Copilot widget brings Microsoft 365 CopilotSharePoint-based agents, and Copilot Studio agents directly into your personal digital workplace. It puts AI-driven support right alongside your apps, tasks, news, and other daily tools — making it easier to get help, create content, or ask questions in context.

Start a Conversation with an AI Agent

The Copilot widget allows users to interact with one or more AI agents — either directly from the board or from the Buddy Bar in the top right corner.

Depending on how the widget is configured, users may have access to different agents — such as a general Copilot, a department-specific assistant, or one tailored to specific roles or tasks.

Decide how Copilot fits into your board experience

Admins have complete control over how the Copilot widget is configured and used across the organization. 

You can customize how the widget is displayed by selecting a default layout:

  • Prompts – Show a list of predefined questions or actions users can trigger with one click.

  • Chat – Embed a conversational interface directly on the board.

  • Launcher – Allow users to open an agent in a dedicated full-screen dialog.

Additionally, you can choose how agents open—either as a dialog or within a panel—giving you flexibility in how users interact with them.

Adjust tone, prompts, and access with ease

You can customize your Copilot agent by setting a title, a short description, and defining its behavior—for example, to act as a productivity coach. You can also add helpful prompts like:

  • Summarize my last meeting

  • What should I prepare for my next meeting?

  • List open action items

Control who can use the agent by setting visibility to a specific group or pushing it to users (excluding external ones). You can also enable an automatic prompt to run by default, helping users stay on track without needing to ask first.

Control the user experience with two layout options

You can choose how an agent opens when a user interacts with it—giving you flexibility in how it fits within your board experience. There are two supported options:

  • Dialog – Opens in a focused, full-screen overlay. Ideal for deep-dive tasks like drafting meeting notes or preparing for sessions without distractions.

  • Panel – Opens alongside the board, allowing users to stay in context while chatting or triggering prompts.

The Copilot widget puts you in control. You decide how it looks, how it behaves, and who can use it. With flexible prompts, layout choices, and access settings, you can tailor the experience to match the way your team works—right from within the board.
